Future of Navy Drones

The Navy is developing an unmanned aircraft system to replace the manned fighter aircrafts. The MQ-25A Stingray, a multi-purpose unmanned aircraft system that can carry refueling systems underneath its wings, is an example of a multi-purpose drone. These drones will help relieve F/A-18 fighter pilots of their tanker duties, thereby indirectly increasing the carrier airwing's striking power. The future of these unmanned aircraft is not certain.

MQ-4C Triton Unmanned Aircraft System

The Navy intends to send two MQ-4C Tritons, one to Guam, by the end 2018 to increase its presence in the Western Pacific. This deployment was first announced in April 2018. However, the Navy had to halt operations due to the September 2018 crash of the first Triton. The program is expected back to flying in 2019.

Blue Water Maritime Logistics UAS concept

The US Navy awarded the 2019 Other Transaction Authority Award to Skyways, based in Austin, Texas. It was for their Blue Water Maritime Logistics UAS. The folding wings of the aircraft will enable it to fold down after takeoff and before landing. This will make it easier to store and handle. Initially, Boeing was considered for the award, but Skyways pipped the Boeing-owned company. The drone's unique design has attracted industry attention and could soon be part of the future Navy fleet.

MQ-25A Stingray

The MQ-25A Stingray Navy Tanker is a prototype and is expected achieve operational capability in 2025. Its horizontal configuration and rounded wings-body make it less susceptible to enemy radar detection. Its ability to land at sea while maintaining a high degree of survivability makes it an excellent choice for long-range missions over fixed-wing tankers.

UXV Drone Carrier Warship

The UXV Drone Carrier Warship concept is an interesting one, but will it actually be useful? What is the point in having a half-flattop battleship equipped with a drone platform? It is a good idea in theory. But is it possible? Will it ever serve in the Navy? And if so, how will it fit into the current Navy? What budget will it need?

MQ-8Bs/Cs

The MQ-8B, and C are navy drones. They are equipped for anti-submarine warfare and can carry out large-area multistatic audio searches. The Navy is planning to replace the MQ-8C with a new model, which passed an initial fit test at the USS Anchorage. The airframe of the MQ-8C is based on a commercial Bell 407 aircraft and retains most of the B version's avionics. It can land on any aircraft-capable ship, even unprepared areas. The MQ-8C is equipped with a brand new radar system. The new aircraft will be ready for deployment by the end of the summer.

Laser weapon with electric power

The Navy's advancement in laser weapon systems is remarkable. The Navy has made remarkable progress in its laser weapon systems, going from thirty kilowatts to 150 kilowatts by 2020. The all-electric weapon doesn't need propellants, ammunition, or any other fuel. It can operate for as long a ship has power. The electric laser weapon is a better option than its chemical counterparts.

How To

Repairing A Damaged Motor Of A Drone

The first step toward repairing a damaged motor is to identify what part of the motor is broken. This is easiest to do by removing the propeller from its shaft. Then, you need to remove any wires connected to the motor and inspect its inner workings. If there is something wrong with the motor, you will know which part you need to repair.

If there is no damage to the motor, then you don't have to worry too much however if the motor looks like one of these images below, then you'll need to replace some components before you can fly again.

Consider a motor that has become bent and won't turn. To get the motor to turn again, you'll need to bend it. You could use a vice grip or a pair of pliers to hold the motor while bending it back into shape. After you're done, check your motor for signs of wear.

Once everything is in order, attach the propeller to the motor shaft. Now your drone is ready to fly!
